Lily recommends that you follow this procedure to help you find your band and cup size.

First of all, using a tape measure, measure the area around the ribcage right under the bust. Make sure that the tape measure rests snugly and smoothly against your skin.

Then, add 5 inches to this measurement. For example: if your ribcage measurement is 31 inches + 5 inches = 36 inches. Your band size is 36. Go to the next step to find your cup size.

Secondly, measure around the fullest point of your bust; don't forget to hold the tape measure straight but not too tightly.

Your cup size is the difference between this measurement and your band size. For example: if your band size is 31 inches and your bust is 3 inches, the difference is 2 inches. Please consult the following table to find your cup size.

Front:

1. The underwire sits flat against the ribcage;
2. The breast tissue is completely encased in the underwire;
3. The underwire follows the natural crease of the breasts; and
4. The cup fits perfectly and there is no bulging or gaping at the top.

Back:

1. The straps are parallel or slightly V-shaped in the back;
2. The band is level all the way around, without riding up in the back; and
3. The straps do not dig into the shoulders.

Your breasts will feel like they are sitting perfectly in the cups and your bra will feel comfortable and well supported. If you hesitate, forget it. This means that it is not the correct size for you. Sometimes, you will have to go up a cup size or two, or try different bra types. Finding the perfect bra takes a lot of time and patience, but the way you will look and feel once you have found it will be worthwhile. That is a promise.

A woman's body does change over time. We recommend that you reevaluate your bras regularly to be sure that they fit the way they should.

Back underband rides up: First, try extending the straps. If there is no change, try a smaller band size.

Advice: The underband should fit firmly against the body so that it does not move away from the chest as you go about your daily activities.

Centre front lifting away from the body: If it doesn't lie flat against the body, it could be a sign that the cups are too small. Try a bigger cup size.

Shoulder straps digging in: There are two possible reasons for the straps digging in. First, you may just try to loosen the straps. If there is no change, then try a smaller band size.

Advice: The underband of a bra actually provides the majority of support for the breasts. The straps provide only 20 per cent. That is the reason why it is really important to find the perfect band size to avoid weighing down the straps.

Bulging over top of cup: This is simple. It means that the cup is too small.

Advice: It is really important that the breasts be completely encased by the underwire. If you are not sure that you have the right size, try a t-shirt over your bra and look at yourself in the mirror. The t-shirt will show any bulges over the top of the cup.

Is the contour of your bra so tight that you can hardly slip your fingers under the band? In this case, the contour band is too narrow or the contour size is too small. Increase the contour size.

Advice: The band must take the form and shape of your body in a natural way. It must not leave any red marks on the skin.

Cups are too baggy: If there are creases in your cups, you might try going down a cup size or try a lightly padded bra.

Minimizer: Specially made for full figure silhouettes. Reduces the size of the bust.

Underwire: That type of bra has a thin flexible wire, which offers added support. It is offered in a variety of fabrics.

Balconette: Reveals the shape and creates dramatic uplift and cleavage.

Bustier: A highly structured garment, which extends from bust to hip. Provides both shaping and uplifting.

Convertible: Describes any garment which has detachable straps and can be worn in a variety of ways. Convertible bras are a flexible option since they can be worn with a variety of tops.

Push-Up: Push-up bras create the appearance of increased cleavage using angled cups. Perfect for a plunge ‘V' neck.

Demi-Cup: A demi-cup bra offers the perfect amount of coverage for petite to average figure women. These bras offer less coverage than a full cup and more than a plunge.
